5th month, Maguindanao Massacre: the perpetrators thought, & still think, they could/can get away with it (3rd cut)

It’s been five months since 57 civilians were slain on a road in Ampatuan town, Maguindanao a few meters from local police checkpoints; then buried in a wide shallow grave using a backhoe assigned to the local town government–

–the perpetrators thought, and still think,   they could or can get away with it.
