The world did not end today as scheduled by doomsday interpreters of the Mayan calendar. And so, WordPress says:
“Surprise. There was talk of some sort of apocalypse today, but so far, so good. Big surprise! In honor of the world continuing, show me some surprises! xxx.”
The major religions speak of an end of days, or hold that there is an end to everything [the Bible, the Quran, the Vedas (Vedic scriptures)], except that the Buddhist texts put it this way: there is no beginning or end but infinite repeated births, changing from one form to another.
Here is my entry for the Weekly Photo Challenge: End of the World, este, er, Surprise.
A sunny day of apple-picking. J, L, Z, and Ztwo in an apple orchard, with more than a hundred trees heavily laden with luscious fruits all for the picking.
Surprise. They pick only a bagful, only what will sustain them for a week.
The world will continue.
But if we consume and burn the planet the way we do, Z’s granddaughter — and your great grandchildren — might face long-drawn floods, then long-drawn droughts.
They will reap what we sow, and it might not be apples.
Hopefully, we keep learning everyday, and finding better ways to live without destroying what gives us life. Surprise.
And that’s my post for the Weekly Photo Challenge: Surprise.

NASA scientists debunk rumors that the world will end tomorrow, 21-12-12 (21 December 2012), see video below.
Here’s how netizens, most of them Pinoys (Filipinos) react to apocalytic chatter:

Just read Mathew 24 it’s complete. In fact, some had already happened. We’re almost there. As soon as the Gospel is preached THROUGHOUT THE WORLD, then rapture comes immediately. Let’s welcome our Lord Jesus Christ waving in the clouds for ALL THE WORLD TO SEE with all His Angels. Let’s welcome the groom claiming His bride, i.e., US!

It doesn’t need an astronomer(s) to tell me that the world won’t end this December.
Common sense and “Reading the Bible, with understanding” is all that it takes.
How could you believe a primitive tribe’s prediction when they themselves were not able to overcome the dangers of their very existence, several centuries ago.?

The Mayan civilization is way out of this world. They like to study the stars and heavenly things, but not studying their own environment, and as well as the Earth, the planet they lived. Mayans, actually, didn’t predict, the climate change during their time, and their civilization was brought down due to DROUGHT and DRYNESS that swept across the Central America region, the Equator area.Had they have good study of their water/drainage/irrigation system and storage, they could have survived and fluorish at most to their peak. You can check the facts on DISCOVERYChannel.

Four riders of the Apocalypse. Illustration from the first Russian engraved Bible.
Bummer, I was looking forward to it. Seriously, the world as the Pinoys know it will end after they know the results of next election

To the more than 1000 dead and missing victims of typhoon Pablo their world already ended, to the 27 victims children and adults in the shooting in Sundy School in the United States the Mayan prediction came earlier. The end of the worldl will come to all of us sooner or later so why worry.

It will not end unless it’s the will of GOD to end this cruel world! All GOD’s work is perfect it works wonders! Rest assured the world will not end. Life has it’s end but the start of a new beginning, new hope , new world, new heaven, new experience.

The proofs that attest and declare the works of GOD is the Bible. Please read this book very carefully from the pro-creation of the universe, the constellations, the sun, stars, moon, sky, seas, mountains, animals, everything not even under the sun, but far way beyond in the outer space, underneath the oceans, underground, everywhere, beyond what you can imagine. Anything not man made are handmade of the LORD thy GOD.

That is not proof in anyway.

‘Sa naniniwala wala ng kailangan pang paliwanag sa ayaw maniwala walang sapat na paliwanag’.
If you post something in a forum, you are telling people something you want them to believe in or agree with. So if someone has a different opinion, the unfavorable response is NOT unexpected.
So your only proof is the bible. With that reasoning, anyone can write a book and say Pacquiao created the world. Just like that without any proof. BTW, are termites, mosquitoes and viruses also created by god? They are not hand-made.

Kung ang end-of-the-world ay kailangan ng PH government approval, hindi talaga aabot sa December 21 deadline, kasi bukod sa napakahabang proseso, sandamak-mak na requirements at clearance ang kailangang i-attach…

video below produced and uploaded by NASA, they had planned on releasing it Dec. 22, 2012, but released it earlier anyway.
“xxx Thy Womb (Sinapupunan, 2012) tells the story of a midwife, Shaleha (Nora Aunor), who cannot have children. The film follows her and her husband Bangas An (Bembol Rocco) on their search for a second wife to provide them with the family they crave.
“Set in the seaweed-producing island province of Tawi-Tawi, Thy Womb juxtaposes the great poverty of its inhabitants, many of whom live in shacks perching perilously on stilts above the sea, with the breathtakingly beautiful seascape. The poverty of the island dwellers is also countered by their immense capacity for generosity. Lavish wedding celebrations are organised, money is readily given or lent and hospitality is part of the culture.
(video-trailer produced by Centerstage Productions, uploaded by pinoymovies in YouTube, used here non-commercially for review purposes)
“This is not to say that Mendoza paints an idyllic picture of these people. Pirates steal boats and belongings, whilst soldiers and gunfire are so ubiquitous as to be humdrum. When Shaleha is knocked down by a group of soldiers in the market, she doesn’t even think to mention it to her husband. Yet Mendoza chooses not to dwell on the political and social aspects of the Philippines.
“There is no need for hyperbole when the poverty and potential for violence is so apparent. Instead, the director focuses on the relationship between husband and wife. Other than being childless, Shaleha and Bangas An seem to have the perfect marriage: love, respect, humour and mutual understanding. Yet this lack of a child is viewed as a lack of divine grace and they need a child to make their marriage whole. Thus begins the quest from island to island, down the Indonesian archipelago.
“Eventually, they find a suitable girl at a decent price and the couple are relieved and happy. But there’s a catch: the girl wants Shaleha out of the picture once the first child is born. Bangas An is left with a choice: the child he so desperately craves versus the woman he has created a life with. Thy Womb is a moving and visually captivating movie with two commanding yet understated central performances. Mendoza’s film deserves an accolade at Venezia 69.xxx”
