#UniversityofthePhilippines #UPDiliman campus-wide faculty Council Meeting yesterday morning

Photo, android-shot yesterday morning.

The University of the Philippines Diliman campus-wide faculty Council (or the “University Council”:  composed of all assistant professors, associate professors, and full professors — the highest academic policy-making body) at its meeting yesterday morning viewed a detailed presentation on the free tuition scheme in U.P.,  greenlighted the graduation of December candidates for graduation, and approved curricular revisions of certain chemistry courses and business administration courses.

The professors also approved in principle a statement condemning the extrajudicial killings from the “drug war” (the draft was referred back for edits).

The Chancellor also invited the faculty, students, and staff to examine shared histories and exchange views with visitors on-campus — the Lumads and other representatives of national cultural minorities — being hosted by the University to provide the academe with authentic resource persons on indigeneous culture, language, arts, and present-day struggles in Mindanao, on makeshift tents at a vacant lot on Emilio Jacinto corner CP Garcia, UP Diliman, up to Sept. 22.
