first posted at 10:22pm: BREAKING NEWS: The Chancellor is now required by succession rules to swear in USC Vice Chair Kisha Beringuela as UP Student Council Chair now that Upsilonian Yael Toribio has resigned as UP Student Council chair.

The alternative U.P. student publication called “Rebel Collegian” report-tweeted an hour ago:  “Yael Toribio tenders his resignation as Chairperson of the University Student Council, in light of the recent controversies surrounding his fraternity Upsilon Sigma Phi.”  Further, the R.Collegian report-tweeted that Alpha Phi Betan Rein Gallardo has also resigned as USC councillor.

If there are no rules governing the filling of a vacancy among the USC councillors, and if a special elections would be too expensive and cumbersome to hold, the next placer, which would be — if i’m not mistaken — Ivy Taroma (who is also the elected student regent), can be sworn in to fill the vacancy, to be approved by the student general assembly and the BOR, if there are no rules on the matter (i don’t have a copy of their by-laws at the moment, please discuss it among the various student formations as soon as possible.)
