breaking news: 2:25 am ZTE witness Lozada surfaces

Breaking news: ZTE witness Rodolfo “Jun” Lozada surfaced five minutes ago, at 2:25 am in La Salle, Greenhills, in the company of priests and nuns.

     In a press con, he said:

    1. quote “during the first meeting to evaluate the NBN project, i recommended that the cyberducation project be removed. In the second meeting, i recommended that the two proponents (Joey and  Abalos) get together and put the project together, Joey’s was BOT, and i recommended that.

    2.quote “The trouble started when Abalos wanted to protect his $130 million dollar commission (his exact words.)

     3. quote “I told them it might be a little too big, bubukol ho ito. Baka kalahati siguro pwede. Joey went ballistic: saan nya kukunin ang $130 million. I didn’t know what to say, i said problema nyo na ito, basta make sure you get this together because we don’t want another Atong Ang and Chavit Singson na sasabog ito.

    4. quote “sometime in December si Yuyung and  Fania were getting frantic. I assured them it was okay.

     5. quote “At this point, Abalos was getting impatient and wanted to get on with the project all alone. I said hindi pwede,  dapat BOT, hindi pwede i-utang.

   6. quote “Tinawagan nya si FG. Di ko narinig and sabi ni FG. Then Abalos said Kung ganyan kayo kausap, di bale na lang.

     7. quote “then a letter from the Chinese goverment came. sometime December. addressed to Mike. saying that there was now money available for the loan for the  NBN project separate from the cyber-ed project.

     8. quote “I told the secretary about it. He said, Jun you moderate the ______(“greed”?)

    9. quote “Abalos invited us for dinner, sometime in December, with Joey, and FG. He said, pare okey na kami ni Joey.

     10. quote “they went to China. I did not join them anymore.

     11. quote “Sometime in January Abalos invited me to dinner with Yuyung and Fania and the chairman said the project was a go. There was some awkward reaction from the ZTE officials. I left the room. When i came back, there was a quarrel between Chairman and the ZTE officials, because the  ZTE officials were saying that the project should be like North Rail.

  

     12. quote “Then Abalos told me, alam ba ni Romy Neri yang ginagawa mo. Alam mo ba na malapit ako sa pulis? Alam mo ba na malapit ako sa militar? Tinatraydor nyo ako ni Joey, mga hayup kayo, ipapatay kita.

     13. quote “When i quit the project it was at  $262 million.   When it was approved, it was  $329 million.

     14. “This project is just one example of a systemic transactional problem, there are many others. etc.”

     Then he said, pasensiya na kayo dun sa mga pinirmahan ko nung dumating ako, i signed that in their company, i hope you understand.

      then he talked of the risks he was taking, then he started to cry.

     he was still crying when i stopped typing. It’s 2:55 am.

     Okay i’m still typing. he said he did not request for any security from the PNP. He said he was driven around Calamba, Laguna, etc. until  the group got a call to turn back. He said he’d by a hypocrite if he said he wasn’t scared.

     He said this evening, the men asked him where he wanted to be brought; and he said, with the La Salle brothers.

     he said the “pananakot” was not explicit but implicit, because he didn’t know them.
