He called while i was getting submerged and when i got to dryland,  he said he was willing to go through high water on EDSA from Makati to QC this  late evening;  because i knew him to be one of the most hardworking and perceptive  reporters, i said yes to an interview with RG Cruz of ABS-CBN on the Supreme Court decision that came out only a couple of hours ago that  sacked  CA Justice Roxas, suspended  for two months CA Justice Sabio, and reprimanded  the others on the “ex parte meetings and communication” (i’m being polite in saying “ex parte communication” to  refer to the irregularities that attended the deliberation, writing, and signing)  of the decision on the Meralco-GSIS case.

When i saw him, he looked like he had lost weight; but maybe because i hadn’t seen him in person in months.  As you would have seen  in the story that was aired in Bandila,  he earlier tried to chase and get an interview with  Mr. De Borja  in Makati  in the  pouring rain  to get his side of the story but the latter refused.

RG produced a well-backgrounded report for Bandila  in less than two hours; he’s one of those persons who can multi-task, that means he could already picture the story in his head, and write it in his head,  while crossing a river like EDSA.

RG Cruz’s report that was aired was an entire story that  included antecedent facts, then  info on the justices, then a backgrounder on de Borja, then the decision, then interviews  (i can’t report the entire thing here, it’s better seen than read).

I’ll try to continue in the next post.

(Okay, i just saw the replay on DZMM teleradyo now being aired,  too, on free TV Channel 2 at  4:00am-5:00 am; i think there goes my appellate practice; you think; but the National President of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines himself  called for the resignation of all the justices investigated and involved in a full-page ad; i am just following the lead of the compulsory bar organization to which i belong; i am just reiterating it; i just paraphrased it; other lawyers should speak up and follow the lead of the IBP now  that the Supreme Court has made findings of fact.)
