“the universe conspired…”

The Universe did not want me to go to one of my morning schedules yesterday. The Universe makes me do or not do certain things.

If it had been a hearing i wonder how  that would have looked in a motion for continuance (postponement). A judge worth his/her wit would say:

“Order. When this case was called for hearing today, the parties appeared. Plaintiff’s counsel moved for continuance on account of the Universe not allowing her to present evidence today. The defendant opposed and objected. Wherefore, premises considered, plaintiff’s counsel is hereby ordered to bring to court the Universe after the second call to testify as to her contention that the Universe conspired to disallow her from calling her witness to the stand today. So ordered.”
