Parking uphill slope: park first gear to prevent rolling then put on park brake; if downward slope, park then put on reverse gear, then put on brake. Never leave the vehicle parked on neutral — unless you are “illegally parked” or you would want the vehicle to be movable just in case you are blocking someone’s path but, using your foot with your body away from the car, insert  a “kalso” or wedge so it won’t roll (don’t use your hand or don’t crouch under when putting a wedge, the car might roll on you, always use just your foot, not your hand and body, for this at all times); other than that, never leave the vehicle parked on neutral, it will roll.

Star Trek actor Anton Yelchin, 27, dies in car accident

from Rappler: “The Associated Press said Yelchin was killed by his own car after it rolled backward down his driveway and pinned him against a brick mailbox pillar and a security fence. Police did not say why Yelchin was behind the vehicle when it began to roll backward.

“Police officer Jenny Hosier added Yelchin was about to meet friends for a rehearsal, and was found by his friends when he didn’t show up.

“Born in Russia, he came to America when he was 6 months old with his parents, who were star figure skaters with the Leningrad Ice Ballet.

“He began acting at age 9, and won roles in television dramas and films starting in the 1990s.

“His movie credits include “Star Trek,” “Star Trek into Darkness,” “Star Trek Beyond” and the 2007 crime thriller “Alpha Dog.”  “
