Breaking: SC gives due course to anti-Marcos burial MR & Petition for Contempt

Breaking, first posted here at 1:58pm: The Supreme Court gave due course to the anti-Marcos LNMB burial  Motion for Reconsideration and Petition for Contempt, in a Resolution issued today requiring Respondents to file a Comment on the Petition in ten days.

To laymanize that: The Motion for Reconsideration to reverse the SC decision which authorized the Marcos burial at the Libingan ng mga Bayani (Heroes Cemetery) has been found to have complied with the formal procedural requirements laid down by the Rules of Court, and was admitted by the Court, with an order on the Respondents (the other party) to file their Comment (or to respond) within ten days, after which, with or without the Comment, the MR would be ruled upon. This legal process is still…alive.

The Petition for Contempt was likewise found to have complied with the formal requirements and consolidated with the main proceeding or the main Petitions against the Marcos LNMB burial (the contempt petition being an ancillary remedy, or  a    part of the main proceeding).
