down to the wire is… when you’ve suddenly grown twenty fingers … clickety-clacking on the keyboard … and the words are racing

rivalled only

by the beating of your heart

and the sparks flying from the synapses

far flung

and closing in…

(your body produces chemicals, some of those chemicals are produced in your brain which, when released in their right balance, create microscopic electric impulses transmitted through the millions of synapses of your brain cells … (in other words, your brain, or the chemicals of your body, creates microscopic electric sparks)…

so is that the only thing involved in the process of writing? just synapses in your brain…?)
