It has been six days since U.P. Law professor Atty. Ryan P. Oliva was last seen. Ryan is a graduate of the U.P. College of Law and the U.P. Department of Journalism College of Mass Communication, and Chief of the Legislative Liaison Unit of the Department of Tourism. (i met Ryan three years ago as a colleague at the Board of Judges of the Philippine Collegian Editorial Exams. Since then, now and then, i ask a question or two by email about processes , and he promptly responded.)
When one heads out on a Saturday evening to meet with people, one is supposed to be able to get home without incident, one is supposed to be able to amble about and reach the house back safely; one should not have to bring a coterie of security personnel, or plan out the route like Operation Desert Storm, or carry an arsenal in one’s vehicle, to be safe; one should be able to walk about or drive across town on C5 or Edsa or Quezon Avenue and not have to live in fear like a prey. If you have seen Ryan, please get in touch with his brother or parents thru the contact information in the poster. His family and friends are looking for him. We are looking for him po, please help us find him.
