In choosing running shoes, make sure that, with your running socks on, there is ½ inch space between the edge of your longest toe and the internal toe cap of your running shoes. You have to examine your feet – Which one is your longest toe? If you’re human, your longest toe is either your big toe or the second toe.
Also, do NOT put any inserts, pads, or insole inside your running shoes – these will put too much pressure on your toes and will cause hematomas, serious nail-breakage, and all kinds of injuries on your toes (based on my experience). Running shoes are designed such that you don’t need any external pads or inserts or insole in them.
Also, the lighter your running shoes are, the better for you.
And one final reminder… When running, from afar please also see how the sunbeams are streaming thru the trees, and be hushed at how the wind brushes your face — stop talking about yourself, or your work, either in your head or with others.
Run softly and leave the world behind when you’re running.
