Mendiola leading to Malacañang Palace, Office of the President of the Republic, Sept 21, 2025: Many of those hurling rocks at the police were no more than 4 feet tall: That is to say they are children. Many of those arrested are 15-year-olds.
What were you doing when you were seven years old?
What has this country done to our children?
The Luneta and EDSA anti-corruption massive rallies joined in by more than 50,000 angry taxpayers were a huge success in further awakening this country. They were also well-covered by the media, there was a lot of discussion on that, marami pong salamat, no need for this post to add anything more.
I reviewed the footage on the rock-throwing on Mendiola, and the burning of the container van that was used to block intersection leading to Mendiola bridge. (Note for the worldwide audience: Mendiola is the road leading to Malacañang Palace, fortunately or unfortunately, the Department of Budget and Management is under the Office of the President and the Office of the President is seated at Malacanang Palace; DBM is partly to blame for allowing the post-second-reading insertions on flood-control projects that led to billions of taxpayers’ money being stolen as payoffs to corrupt politicians).
Luneta rally organizer Bayan Secretary General Nato Reyes was among those badly injured when he was hit on the head by one of the flying rocks, and had to be brought to the ER: He said in his X posts that he understands the pent-up anger of the people who were hurling rocks on Mendiola, to which a netizen said, “maybe it was not pent-up anger because: Why would they throw rocks at fellow rallyists, maybe they were there to really hurt people and cause a commotion” to which Nato replied, maybe it was just an accident, maybe the thrower had low aim or did not know how to throw.
Nato, get well soon, —
— and, no, the rock-thrower did not have poor aim, the trajectory vertical clearance of his throw is only about 5 to 6 feet high because he is 4 feet high.
That is to say, many of those hurling rocks at the police were no more than 4 feet tall (see footage below). That is to say they are 7 to 8 years old. They quickly scampered away when the anti-riot units moved forward on them while one performed a BTS dance for five seconds before sprinting in retreat.
While many of those arrested were 15-year-olds. We call on the Department of Social Welfare and Development, to which the arrested minors were turned over, to submit a report within 24 hours on how these children found themselves in such circumstances.
We hope President Bongbong Marcos takes this into consideration when he issues orders on the disposition on the children and when he issues a statement on what happened.
We hope DILG Secretary Jonvic Remulla and PCO Usec Claire Castro remember what they were doing when they were 7 years old or 15 years old when they issue statements condemning the minors.
Whether or not they were recruited and paid via G-Cash by cowardly nefarious elements to do the job for them or whether or not they were driven by poverty and pent-up anger, if the 200 hundred billion pesos in taxpayers’ money that was stolen by politicians, contractors, and public works officials, had been used to provide them with a better life, do you think they would find themselves on the streets yesterday throwing rocks at the anti-riot units with so much fervor that the anger fueling it was palpable…?
