Answer: Yes, combing hair. But for DZMM worldwide TV-radio interview, i comb-and-clip hair!
2 hours ago. Brilliant news anchors Peter Musňgi, and Rica Lazo ask critical questions about the DICT proposal to require permits/registration for social media use.
Earlier, at 9am, while monitoring their Balitapatan show, i was totally impressed by how Bos Peter Musňgi corrected and fact-checked the news script on President Trump (wow, hindi lang nagbabasa, tinitiyak na kumpirmado, sigurado; not just reading the news script, but factchecking and correcting it on the spot)… also impressed by how Bos Peter ferreted out, by asking searching questions of the government official -interviewee who sounded like thesis-reading, the exact number of hours of their quick-response time in disaster areas, the news anchor wanted exactly how many hours it would take for help to arrive in disaster-stricken areas — Very Important…
And now, here’s the interview on how the Department of Info and Comm Tech (DICT) is planning to require a permit system for publishing in social media, a proposed measure fraught with danger of censoring internet sites : It will entail shutting down social media sites until each one (millions of netizens) and all get a license to express ideas, etc.
i proposed self-regulation — requiring the social media platform companies, or big tech, to employ more fact-checkers and a rating system of big sites notorious for disinformation, e.g., putting ratings like: This requires fact-checking, Rating: Requires context, etc., but not censoring and not scrubbing, and not the DICT proposal of shutting down everyone without a permit — the permit system for expression is a form of prior restraint thru absolute control.
Do NOT give up social media space — the last frontier of free expression. Implement effective self-regulation.
