This is an unedited video of the Quiapo bomb blast yesterday which killed two, recorded by mobile device by a concerned citizen before first responders were able to reach the crime scene. (Credits as stated in the YouTube video)

But this is the second bombing in the last nine days at the heart of downtown Manila — one of the most densely populated areas in the metro. From the Inquirer: “Two explosions – occurring about 2 1/2 hours apart – rocked Quiapo, Manila, Saturday evening, the first one killing two people and injuring four others, and the second one injuring two police officers. The first explosion, which happened at around 5:40 p.m. on Gunao Street, at the office lawyer Nasser Abinal, president of the Imamate Islamic Center. xxx At around 8:30 p.m., another there was another explosion, this time at the Norzagaray and Elizondo Streets. This happened as Chief Supt. Oscar Albayalde, director of the NationalCapital Region Police Office (NCRPO), was about to wrap up a media briefing on the earlier explosion. xxx ” (blog admin’s note: In other words, while police officers were at the crime scene investigating and examining the place, another bomb exploded in the same area, injuring several others including news reporters.) Tito Sotto’s apology is not accepted. The recommendation is to allow his daughter, Ciara Sotto, herself a solo parent, to temporarily and gently duct- tape his mouth, for a day, so he could focus on his job and decide, based on the individual merits, program, and performance of Sec. Judy Taguiwalo and Sec. Ka Paeng Mariano, to confirm their appointments forthwith and with no delay as they have shown their competence and fortitude in the performance of their functions.
