U.P. goes on a combined semester break and Christmas break starting today, Dec. 16, 2014, up to to Jan. 14, 2015, under the new academic calendar that coincides with the ASEAN academic calendar.
The administrative staff goes on a Christmas break starting Dec. 18 with a rotating skeletal staff for the police, security, health, medical, communication, and other essential services.
The second semester of the schoolyear starts on Jan. 15, 2015, barring any class suspensions for the papal visit (the MMDA has recommended a 5-day class suspension Jan. 15-20).
The current schoolyear ends on May 20, 2015, with grad ceremonies on June 28, 2015.
