LPG hoarding, artificial shortage, Angie Reyes saying he needs additional powers

     Energy Secretary Angelo Reyes in a television phone-patched interview yesterday late afternoon said that what he meant when he asked for police power from Congress was that he was asking for additional powers in order that he could go after the LPG hoarders.   i’m sure he wasn’t responding to this little blog, this is just a small blog (and the only way i am able to spike my stats is thru original video of ashtanga yoga poses). For additional powers, you’ll have to wait for the usual run of the legislative mill which will take …two years. In the meantime,

ordinary households will have to make do with uling (coal), kusot (lumber shavings), and firewood.

     I wouldn’t respond, i have to be gone in a bit. Well. Two paragraphs.  ( I said i wouldn’t give the procedure, but just to disabuse any notion that a way could not be found):

      A search warrant for a valid raid of dealers hoarding LPG to the detriment of the public welfare requires only: 1) affidavits from at least two witnesses; 2)establishing facts of personal knowledge to show that there is probable cause than certain dealers/ oil cartel are hoarding LPG;   (and for that, someone who is being paid taxpayers’ money should be doing their job of sleuthing and investigating); 3)presented before a judge; 4) ex parte and discreetly; 5) searching questions from the judge of the witnesses; and forthwith, a search warrant would be issued, which should 1) describe specifically the places to be searched; 2) particularly the things to be seized.  

    It should be done as a campaign and discreetly.     

  Is the systematic and methodical hoarding of LPG beyond the usual inventory thereby causing an artificial shortage and crisis  to the detriment of the public welfare, a crime? I will not do the research for him, he should do his job.   

        Asking for additional powers and not doing anything in the meantime is like saying : “Hindi kaya ng powers ko.” (“My powers are useless”)
