Photos by Kristine Quiray, cropped. KQ’s focus is so sharp, crisp, and clear that, even on a full body shot on a large background, you could actually see the beads of sweat on the subject. (as i understand it, a photographer has good “focus” when the lines of the subject are clearer than the background, so, the photographer is able to capture details of his/ her subject and lead the viewer’s eye to those details.). Here, even under fluorescent light, she manages to bring out the colors and the texture. (then, KQ executed an impeccable headstand after taking these photos, i’m not kidding. Without speaking or saying anything, she continued with her practice after taking the shots, meditative, with unbroken concentration.)
