From Myra: “Yes, I like that shot too. (blog admin’s note: photo above, Myra’s shot of J_ _ in mid-air to catch the water in their garden). I plan to take some basic photography lessons to learn more about my camera and technique. I really like outdoor photography and kids-in-action subjects. i have a Nikon digital SLR D280 model and a good lens…(with) 1/60 shutter speed. That’s the highest speed my camera has. Regular cameras have 1/20. K.Teng gives me tips on camera use and technique. His camera and lenses are really high-end, he reads a lot and took a 3-day basic lesson in Nikon photography. But, they say that ultimately it’s not the camera but the photographer who makes beautiful photos. I’ve seen beautiful photos from cameras like yours point-and-shoot; although it doesn’t allow for fast-moving subjects and uncontrolled light. Our brood (us, siblings) seems to like photography and have an eye for it. ‘Cuz some people walang interest (have no interest) or maganda ang camera (they have an excellent camera) but no concept of art and beauty. You make beautiful photos too. xxx got the chance to spend a day with the kids in K.Teng’s hillside house, the kids look good and natural, they’re easy to photograph. Took photos of the kids playing in K.Teng’s backyard.”

Part of my reply: “….i think it’s the right side of the brain… it’s restful to use it; and it relaxes me. I think we got it from Mommy’s side (but she doesn’t know it, hahaha)…”

Abangan (watch out for): Mommy’s photography [photos Mommy took — of moving subjects! and she’s never handled a camera before except for a few times – the things you discover when you’re past 65 (she probably doesn’t want me to reveal her exact age!)]. My siblings and Mommy went to America to discover…things about themselves!
