From the U.P. Diliman FB site: “UP Diliman offers its condolences to the family of former Chancellor Roger D. Posadas, who has passed away. His remains lie in state at Loyola Memorial Chapels along Commonwealth Avenue, Quezon City. …”
from the Jose-Wendell-Capili-FB-site: “ … Dr. Posadas earned his BS Physics degree from UP Diliman in 1964, and his PhD in Relativity Physics from the University of Pittsburgh (Pennsylvania, U.S.A.) in 1970. His dissertation, “The Motion and Structure of Singularities in General Relativity”, was written under the guidance and supervision of Emeritus Professor Ezra T. Newman, an American physicist known for his many contributions to general relativity theory. Dr. Posadas was UP Diliman Chancellor from 1993 to 1996. Previously, he was UPD College of Science Dean from 1983 to 1993, and Physics Department Chair from 1980 to 1992.

He (Dr. Posadas) conceptualized and initiated the development of the U.P. Science Complex, spearheaded the establishment of the College of Science in U.P. Diliman, and instituted the Philippines’ first Ph.D. Program in Physics. He also formulated a 5-year development plan for the Department of Physics that paved the way for its designation by the national government as a national center of excellence called the National Institute of Physics. He taught in UP Diliman for more than 50 years.”
