SUBJECT: OVPAA & OVPPF Joint Memorandum No. 5 (Guidelines to Implement the Free Higher Education for AY 2018-2019)

In a meeting held on 06 August 2018, the College Secretaries and Graduate Program Coordinators discussed the Guidelines to Implement the Free Higher Education for AY 2018-2019 released through OVPAA & OVPPF Joint Memorandum No. 5 and have agreed that the evaluation of students to determine who are eligible to receive the Free Tuition and Other School Fees (OSF) privilege and other related policies stipulated in the guidelines will be implemented.

As Chancellor, I affirm these decisions. With this memorandum are: (1) the form for opting out of the Free Tuition and OSF privilege; (2) the flowcharts for opting out and completion of registration process for undergraduate students; and (3) the schedule for the completion of registration process for undergraduate students to be followed this First Semester 2018-2019.

SCHEDULE FOR THE COMPLETION OF REGISTRATION PROCESS FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS FOR THE FIRST SEMESTER 2018-2019

August 10, 2018 (Friday) – Deadline for submission of Form5As to the Office of the College Secretary
August 13-14, 2018 (Monday-Tuesday) – Schedule of Online Post-advising
August 15-17, 2018 (Wednesday-Friday) – Schedule of Assessment, Schedule of Payment (if applicable)
IMPORTANT NOTE: Colleges may start processing the Form5As (from online post-advising to assessment) earlier than the set deadline/schedule.

A.If you want to avail of the Free Tuition option:

    1.Submit your Form 5A to the Office of the College Secretary registration staff for processing of free tuition; and

    2.Get your Form 5 for “assessment” (free tuition) from the same staffmembers to complete the process of registration.

B.If you do NOT  want to avail of the Free Tuition option (“opt out), get the opt-out forms by copy-pasting the three urls pasted above, accomplish and submit them.
