The Cage Metaphor
Coincidentally, a couple of weeks ago, i came across this: Jennifer Lopez detailed how the NFL bigwigs asked her to remove the cage metaphor (kids inside cages singing as a commentary on the Trump immigration policy of separating migrant children from their parents at the US-Mexico border) in her docu of the NFL Halftime performance (most of which she wrote, directed, and produced). She remained firm, and the rest was history in NFL performances.

“I know Why the Caged Bird Sings” Maya de Angelou autobiography: “The caged bird sings with a fearful trill, of things unknown, but longed for still, and his tune is heard on the distant hill, for the caged bird sings of freedom.” – Maya Angelou, I Know Why the Caged Bird Sings.
“There is more than one sort of prison, Captain… I sense that you carry yours wherever you go.” Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, line delivered by Chirrut Imwe (Donnie Yen) to Cassian Andor (Diego Luna)
