Context: The interviewee, a senior high school student, said she did not have any sexual experience but took an HIV test because “kasi di ba namamana rin ang HIV etc”.
In the curricular proposal, the course would include the different ways of factchecking, like contextualizing, interviewing an expert, sidebarring, etc. etc.
Also, one important objective of such a course is to ingrain in every reporter (at least, those who will graduate from our college 💃👯 ) to factcheck any factual inaccuracy wherever it comes from in the same report or story, and to make it a minimum standard in any newsroom.
