University of the Philippines Diliman College of Mass Communication Film student Gabriel Magtibay and FEU paralegal Joanne Pagkaliwangan were warrantlessly arrested at 6am today after a PNP-Ermita police car tried to ram them while walking from a concluded peaceful mobile protest on the free space in front of the US Embassy, in opposition to EDCA Balikatan and the EDCA launching pads in Cagayan and other areas facing Taiwan, as magnets of war that may pull in the Philippines. No affidavit of arrest/ complaint, no charges, no inquest, as of posting time. In detention, they are represented by the University of the Philippines College of Law Office of Legal Aid (UP OLA) lawyers headed by Atty. Marwil Llasos.
