Answer: Einstein.
2nd Sensing Instrument
To promote healthy in-person face-to-face conversations and the ability to converse in-person face-to-face; to foster a healthy in-person classroom learning environment, to help call attention to “nomophobia”, or the irrational fear of not holding a mobile phone, and to phone addiction; to help develop situational awareness when on the streets; and to get to know class members better for pedagogical purposes, the following sensing instrument (answers are CONFIDENTIAL) was crafted by the handling faculty member based on actual classroom experience:
This is a second sensing instrument before the handling faculty finalizes class guidelines.
Start (Answers will be kept STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL)
1.Barring emergency weather and earth disasters, NDRRMC alerts, medical emergencies, law-enforcement emergencies, and except to check your mobile for 10 seconds (required to be on silent mode in-class) and look at the screen for 10 seconds because it is vibrating, and except when the handling faculty says “okay double-check and open your browser”, are you able to NOT look at your mobile screen and/ or NOT put it in your ear for 45 minutes during the class discussion?
__ Yes __No
__ Others. Pls specify: ___
2.Except for typing down class discussion notes on your laptop, are you able to NOT look at your laptop screen for 45 minutes during the class discussion and stay engaged in in-person class for 45 minutes?
(There is a break after 45 minutes because medical experts say that remaining motionlessly seated in hard monoblock chairs for more than 30 minutes is not healthy)
__ Yes ___ No
___ Others. Pls specify:
As stated in the first sensing instrument: For special accommodation to be given to class members who have a mental health condition or neurological condition or neurodevelopmental condition which results in impulsive / compulsive/ uncontrollable behavior during in-person class, a medical certificate would be required (for special accommodation)
This sensing instrument stops here unless your answer to any of the above is No.
3.If your answer is No, please state a scientific ground that is non-medical (not a physical or mental or neurological or neurodevelopmental condition) to explain the behavior to give reasonable ground for the handling faculty to consult experts.
Marami pong salamat. Let’s all have healthy conversations in in-person face-to-face classes
That’s all for now. Happy weekend, everyone 💃, and stay warm, and 🆒, too.
