Clean drinking water

       More than 20,000 families in Bulacan and Pampanga, whose houses are still submerged in flood waters, have not had clean drinking water and food for several days now.

The U.P. Diliman Chancellor is gathering reports from the colleges, of damage or injuries sustained for an assesment and for proper assistance. (thanks, Dean Roland, for these info and instructions). The office of the Vice Chancellor for Community Affairs, as i understand it, is accepting donations in kind

(i copied the following possible donations in kind from the Philippine National Red Cross site (see link below)Food items: Rice, noodles, canned goods, sugar, iodized salt, cooking oil, monggo beans and potable water. Non-food items: Bath soaps, face towels, shampoo, toothbrush, toothpaste, plastic mats, blankets, mosquito nets, jerry cans, water containers, water purification tablets, plastic sheetings, and laundry soap. Medicines: paracetamol, antibiotics, analgesic, oral rehydration salts, multivitamins and medications to treat diarrheal diseases)
