flash floods! there are flash floods on the streets where i went.
No. i did not take a picture.
well, don’t know what the advice is when in a flash flood. when you have to walk through a flood, make sure there are no drainage openings where you have to walk; sometimes, it helps to watch someone ahead of you walk, or, if you have a long umbrella, you could use that and “stomp” it (not stomp, use it like a cane) to detect and make sure the ground you would step on is not an open drainage opening. people actually get killed in the city when they fall in those drain openings. when driving through a flood — i don’t know what the advice is: but — i do not stall, not stop, not enjoy the scenery, the water will get inside the tambutso (muffler) and you will conk out…when going through a flood, you’re just trying to survive, not in the mood to play amateur photographer.
just hope the pedestrians understand and forgive you for the splash — there is no choice…sorry po..
(still consider myself lucky).

shot ten minutes ago. The sun broke free! after two hours of torrential rain, it came through the flash floods! – only in the Philippines. (back to shooting again, done with work, started 1:30 am, Francine Prieto and Bobby Yan were talking by Skype to a Filipino mechanic abroad who works on Japanese cars, slept for 30 minutes at 12 noon, beat all my deadlines, wala ba kayong mga kamay…!? done.)
