My food photography was featured by WordPress as one of  “the best in WordPress food blogging” WORLDWIDE!

My food photography was featured by WordPress! The site features “the best in WordPress food blogging”(!), their words not mine, underscore supplied, and “will be updated with the latest and greatest from WordPress food blogs”, their words, underscore supplied. The food photography featured was the blog post yesterday (see blog post below)

Finally! Somebody noticed my “photography” (aside from my sister). Well, i guess you could say mitahara.blogspot (by Prof. Jon Cagas) was the first to discover (like,  a “talent search) my food photography when he featured it.  Thrice! He has good taste. Manolo was the first to discover me as a blogger when he featured my anonymous blog (he didn’t even know then who it was), and my digicam came from Jane — (trying to control tears, many people to thank) The legal discussion here also sometimes got featured in other sites like Global Voices Online and an Inquirer editorial (quoted there) and columns and of course Manolo’s site (but he’s now Presidential deputy secretary and doesn’t  blog anymore, sigh). All those count.

The independently produced food website, a real publication with a real, independent editor (and not just a machine-produced site that shovels up other sites, my yoga posts get shovelled up by those) is called Foodpress, and here’s what it’s about:

Quote “Let us be the first to welcome you to FoodPress! We’ve been getting oodles of questions about this new website, so we thought we’d give a quick introduction so you know what FoodPress is all about…and why it is so awesome.

FoodPress features the best in WordPress food blogging. Each weekday, FoodPress will be updated with the latest and greatest from WordPress food blogs. All in one place. Just for you. And believe us, there is a lot of good stuff out there in the WordPress food blog world. Our mouths are watering just thinking about it.

Quote “FoodPress is edited by a real live person named Jane. She’s a food blogger, too. And she loves to eat. And photograph things. And write. And she can’t wait to comb through your wonderful food blogs to see what you are eating, photographing and writing about.

Quote “Foodpress will feature WordPress.com blogs primarily at the start. There will also be some WordPress.org blog love, but until we get our systems completely lined up for that, you will see more WordPress.com content. We love all WordPress bloggers and can’t wait to share them with you! (If you’re wondering if you are on WordPress.com versus WordPress.org, .ORG users are self-hosted and .COM users get it all from WordPress.com.)

Quote “FoodPress is gonna be awesome. Yes, we already said that. But it’s true. We hope you’ll visit each day to see what delectableness there will be to devour!” closed-quote.

Here it is, the list,  2nd page of three. My food photo is in the top something.

And i don’t even cook. (i don’t say that i cook) and i just use an ordinary digicam, that i didn’t even buy myself, Jane gave it to me, she probably noticed from 16,000 miles away where she is, the photos i’ve been using then in the blog with my cellphone camera, and decided to gift me with a digicam, thanks, (again), Jane. Not a cook and not a photographer and being featured as one of the best. It’s like a person who can’t sing being featured in a singing competition.

Now i can call myself a photographer [please, wala ng kokontra (please, no more objections)], without the quotes —  because an independent,  editor-vetted publication featured a photo i shot! As one of the best. (sniffles, far-away look trying to remember  the most tragic moments in my budding photography career, tears sliding, i need a hankie, tissue, kleenex, tissue, pleeease…)
