The 18-foot mold was made from a plaster cast of artist Donald Harcourt De Lue’s post-World War II work, The Spirit of American Youth Rising from the Waves. fashioning a floating ocean carriage

from the pinkest of a floating luggage

i stowed myself like a cotton candy wreckage

fishermen found and hauled the pink package

and brought me

to family, home, and anchorage
