from interaksyon.com: “The UP Fighting Maroons remained in contention for a spot in the Final Four after taking care of business against UST, 74-69, in a tough UAAP Season 79 clash on Sunday at the FilOil Flying V Arena.

“Paul Desiderio flirted with a triple-double, logging 16 points, 13 rebounds and seven assists to lead UP.

“Despite some struggled from Jett Manuel, several other Fighting Maroons stepped up as they picked up their fifth win of the season. Noah Webb scored nine points and blocked three shots while Manuel, who shot 2-for-13 from the field and missed three free throws in the fourth quarter, added eight markers.

“Four other players – Dave Moralde, Diego Dario, Javi Gomez De Liano and Kyles Lao – all chipped in with six apiece.

“UP tied NU for fifth and sixth places in the standings with identical 5-8 records. Both teams are chasing Adamson, which is in fourth place at 6-5.

“UP made its move in the third quarter, where they rattled off a huge 11-0 run. xxx”
