oh, i just remembered: Today’s lucky color is “dark yellow”, said the morning show astrologer. i remembered because i was going in and out and saw an astrologer in the public service program of Julius Babao, her name (or is it her pseudonym?) is Stargazer. I think she was going to promote an activity or something. The host, being the newsperson that he was asked him what her prediction was on the impeachment of Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez. She sort of hedged; and the host pressed on, “will the impeachment move forward?” The astrologer said yes; of course that’s what she would say —  the report is already being written by the House Justice Committee and sources say more than 150 House representatives will endorse it. The host pressed some more (you can’t promote something without being asked about your “profession” in this program): “What will be the result of the impeachment?”

And she refused to answer!

The soothsayer refused to make a prediction, she said she didn’t want to answer.

If i had been in that seat, i would have just said: “i can only give you the movement of the moon and stars and the turn of the tides and trend of events but i have no control over the will of men and women. And based on the energy of the universe and the surge of cosmic forces , i can tell you that …. (drumroll):

“The unjust…..(dramatic pause)….

will have…..(takes a deep breath)

their…..comeuppance!”

Wadyathink — will i make a good fake soothsayer?

Just give a general prediction and you’ll get away with it. “The unjust” here can refer to anyone — so a prediction like that will…someday…come true….at some point.

if the news anchor pressed some more, just be cute and say “oy, may bayad na yan” (hey i have to bill you for the next question)
