Message to the people of Japan & to all who had to battle tremors in all parts of the world

“At the centre of the Earth I’ll split apart

(En medio de la tierra apartaré)

“the emeralds to catch a glimpse of you

(las esmeraldas para divisarte)

“and there you will be like a stalk of flower

(y tú estarás copiando las espigas)

“with messages like water overflowing from pen”

(con una pluma de agua mensajera.)

– Pablo Neruda (translation tweaked by blog admin)

  1. Many people want to help out, but other than money or being an aid worker, there is another way to help by sending words of support and hope. You can send your message online to school children and emergency workers in Japan via Hope Letters http://hopeletters.wordpress.com/. Hope Letters will translate them into Japanese and deliver them to local organizations for posting/broadcasting (when it is practical and effective to do so). Help give hope!

  2. My wife and I wanted to tell the people of Japan that our prayers are with you. We are impressed with your stoic and orderly conduct in such difficult circumstances. The people of the world can learn a lot from how the Japanese citizens are handling this unfathomable situation. Peace be with you and again our prayers are with you.
