two minutes after i sent out that email to class members (see previous post) i got an email from a student asking me whether or not the President under the proposed emergency powers act known as “Bayanihan Act” could take over media entities.
My reply from two minutes ago: “Because i know Congress (both Houses) cannot muster a quorum, i did not bother to read it hahaha. But to answer your question, let me take a look at it for a few seconds.

Breaking, posted at 12:14pm: From SC en banc : No gag order for now. Supreme Court does not shut down the internet. (The Motion for Gag Order seeks to prohibit all who seek “on behalf” of ABS-CBN from speaking on the Quo Warranto or franchise. “On behalf” means in favor of. It is broad and covers more than half of all posts, tweets, IG captions/ comments on the issue.
(Whew! hay salamat, people can still facebook, tweet, IG-caption/ comment)…
(based on a report of ABS-CBN reporter Mike Navallo that the Quo Warranto and Motion for Gag Order were on the agenda of the Supreme Court en banc today but the Court did not act on the QW or gag order motion but instead will take these up on March 10, 2020) (photo by Agence France Presse of a University of the Philippines College of Mass Comm student, from blog archives)
