As soon as the cars had left, the subjects were bagged and pushed inside the room. There was a shuffling of feet.
The knives were brought out and sharpened. The entire floor was wrapped in crisp plastic cellophane to catch the residue — Mother dearest wouldn’t want her white linoleum soiled.
Then the carving began…careful and conspiratorial…
It’s the annual pre-Halloween pumpkin-carving party of the neighborhood!
