use a sunblock

it’s 4am, sunblock, thick, at 4am, don’t ask. (it’s to stop the skindoctor from fainting– she couldn’t believe i never wore sunblock before except when on the beach and on hikes; she said sunrays are not the same as before.)

it looks like cement on the face. if they’re going to be prescribed, they should at least come in beige or a tint similar to skin color.1sunblock

See you on the outer edge.

WordPress postaday challenge: Sound

                  WordPress postaday challenge: Sound

The clock showed 15 minutes on the 2.5k,   on the same, familiar track, but with a surge of energy  that would not happen again until the next cycle. There was  a gasp, and a gust, and all at once my lungs burst wide open, exploding silently. Suddenly, there was a big brass horn blowing packs of air in my chest,  inward,   busting the arteries; I had flaps all over my body and they all opened outward,  the wind rushing through them, out of them, howling and bellowing.  There was a whistling of unruly  breezes brushing through the trees,  and all around,  I was being tossed like a leaf, infinitely rising, fluttering, disappearing.

       Breathe in  — disintegrate….Breathe in —  exhilarate.

       And then I was free.

(Running a day before the Habagat or southwest monsoon, this was the sound of the southwest wind on the track)
