51,000 views/year & being compared to the Taj Mahal

this message  was received in the email at the start of the year, blog admin keeps forgetting to post it: Stats from the publisher of this blog, the WordPress administrators (thanks thanks) who said: 51,000 views in 2010. WordPress said it was a “Wow” in its health meter; and compared the number of views of the blog to the number of visitors looking at the Taj Mahal.  (i didn’t bother to check the stats  computation/ algorithm, i just published their email here, they’re the statisticians… )

(being compared to the Taj Mahal —  geez, i think many of the visitors of this blog get here by mistake or chance, so it’s really undeserved to be compared to….one of the eight wonders of the world, right? …. don’t mind me, i’m just like this when i’m distraught and the keyboard is being flooded with tears…sniffles). Thanks, thanks, thanks to all the viewers of the blog, i hope i can personally meet each and everyone of you…

Here it is, 51,000 views a year (51,000 over 365 days) means that even if there was no post for a particular day, the blog was getting stats in the 3 figures for that day, i.e., it was in the 3- digit-row everyday regardless of whether or not there was a post.

(Blog admin’s note: This was a brief legal opinion on the criminal- procedure- aspect, but, just between the two of us, i’m guessing it’s getting stats and people are visiting it only by chance because of the search tags and not because of my two-bit legal opinion.)

[Blog admin’s note: This is a compilation of students’ work with the authors properly acknowledged and with their consent given (some are pseudonymous though as published.) As you can see, this isn’t even my work, the students are in my class and this was their assignment. It’s getting stats, i’m guessing, because other students are using it as reference material or maybe because the numerous authors of the post have linked it in their social media accounts.]

WordPress replied in a matter of hours (btw, if i’m not here after Sept. 18, i’m in www.2marichulambino.wordpress.com)

(Photo by Matthew Mullenweg, WordPress founder and officer, when he flew in to Davao from Manila Sept. 3, 2008, right-clicked from his blog and blogpost at    http://ma.tt/2008/09/day-in-davao/        September 3rd, 2008 )
WordPress replied to my email in a matter of four hours.  It sounded like a person and not a machine. They said they checked; and the request from PayPal that i made, and that was getting through, was for the right amount (it means i am not making any dumb mistake in filling up a form, it’s not me!), and that it wasn’t them but either PayPal or the bank. [But my bank here said what was getting through was one dollar in their records as PayPal default, and it was either the merchant (WordPress) or PayPal.] Sus Ginoo. Anyway, WordPress said  i could get in touch with PayPal (i’d already done that) or use another card. Just between the two of us, i think it should be WordPress that should be getting in touch with PayPal because they have a contractual relationship with PayPal and they might want to find out why someone who wants to pay them is not able to get through to PayPal but i guess it isn’t worth their time unless they’re losing lots. Anyway, that’s so we could rule out BOTH PayPal and WordPress, and i could file a complaint against the bank. I don’t know what’s going on. Maybe another card. (then later file a complaint after solving this.)    it’s just an initiatory pleading, why shouldn’t i? I just need to complete the electronic trail, for my file.  i know i’m being petty, i’m glancing at the TV at some infants being abused; i just need to solve this, okay,  can’t leave puzzles. just a little while more. hwag na kayo galit.

 Donncha – WordPress.com to me

       Quote “Hi there,

Quote “I checked and it looks like Paypal requests the normal $20 payment, not $1. You can rule out WordPress.com as the source of this problem. It’s either Paypal or your bank. Do you have another credit card? Perhaps a friend would pay with their card?

Quote “You could also contact Paypal and ask about the transaction, but I don’t know how long they will take to deal with your query unfortunately.
