Letter from a former student
Good day Ma’am.
I am Tristan Delgado. I graduated with an undergraduate degree in Communication Research in 2006. I was your student in Journalism 101 (Introduction to Journalism) and Communication 120 (Law on Mass Media).
Ma’am, I have pursued studying the law (at the Ateneo Law School) and I am now looking for possible topics for my JD thesis. The law on mass media continues to interest me, and so, as a professor and practitioner of media law, you might have insights that could be developed into a full-blown thesis. I would like to ask you about them, Ma’am.
Thank you very much for your time and attention Ma’am, and I’m sorry to use the Comment mechanism in your blog to contact you.
Sincerely,
Tristan Delgado

Dear Mr. Tristan Delgado,
Thank you for writing. The following are relevant media law topics that might interest you: 1) the pending Freedom of Information Act (House Bill) ; 2) the Data Privacy Act (Senate Bill); 3) Libel in the internet, Philippine setting (there is still no Philippine jurisprudence on libel in the internet, especially on the matter of venue); 4) Remedies for a speedy trial, journalist killings; 5) Cyberbullying and remedies; Philippine and international case studies.
Regards!
