     This is an advance post. (for class members who have not been attending classes and who are not aware of the exercises, please see previous posts: This is an advance post. The deadline for the current exercise provided here last week is Feb. 20, scroll to view that exercise)

      Here is the advance post:  Law on Mass Media Fourth Exercise, due only after the discussion on the topic and cases on “Right to Freedom from Prior Restraint”

      This is an exercise given in advance, the deadline is on February 28, 2019 at 4pm Thursday. Class members may post in advance of the class discussion if they feel they are already familiar with the topic and cases,
as follows:

       1.Any news report of the period August 2018 to the present of an event (domestic or worldwide) that illustrates prior restraint or the right to freedom from prior restraint. (do not repeat materials that have been posted on this site before — those who do will get zero without prejudice to any other appropriate actions).

        Optionally, as a bonus for another 10 pts:

       2. Any news report of an event that illustrates censorship in film or the movies in the last ten years, worldwide (with same instructions (those who are posting a bonus –for ease of reviewing– should state “Bonus”) (Photo from the U.P. Law on Mass Media Third Exercise, due only  after the discussion on the topics: 1.What are public records, 2. Right of Access to Information on matters of Public Concern or Right to Freedom of Information, 3.Right not to be forced to disclose the source (Deadline Feb. 20, 2019 at 5pm, class members may post in advance) as follows: 1.Any news report of the period August 2018 to the present of an event (domestic  or worldwide)  that illustrates Number 2 abovestated (do not repeat materials that have been posted on this site before — those who do will get zero without prejudice to any other appropriate actions, (for 10pts), and, optionally, as a bonus for another 10 pts: 2. Any news report of an event for the same period that illustrates Number 3 abovestated with same instructions (those who are posting a bonus –for ease of reviewing– should state “Bonus” at the heading of their bonus post)      Advance non-commercualized Happy Valentines!

Starting today, January 13, 2019, and up to June 12, 2019, everyone is advised to observe the following prohibitions or else risk punishment

     (the following are based on Comelec Resolution 10429)

       1.Do NOT transfer or move from one office to another any government employee: Do NOT sign or act on any recommendation/measure/ action to transfer or move from one office or another any government employee.
       2.Do NOT carry or transport or bear any gun, firearm, or deadly weapon unless authorized by Comelec
        3.If a candidate or a candidate’s staff or if on behalf of a candidate: Do NOT use any security personnel or bodyguard unless authorized in writing by Comelec (i.e., you can if authorized in writing by Comelec: Get authorization in writing from Comelec and carry the authorization with you when moving around)
        4.Do NOT organize or maintain any reaction forces, strike forces, or other similar forces
        5.Do NOT suspend any elective local official: Do NOT sign or act on any recommendation/measure/ action to suspend any elective local official
        6.Do NOT alter the territory of any precinct; do NOT establish any new precinct: Do NOT sign or act on any recommendation/measure/ action to alter the territory of any precinct; Do NOT sign or act on any recommendation/measure/ action to create or establish any NEW precinct.
