this is a very rare footage  never before uploaded in YouTube and researched and found by this blog: Documentary, Ninoy Aquino funeral march, August 21, 1983, shot and produced by Manuel Silva for Reuters, carted in

itnsource.com/en/specials/shotlist/RTV/1983/08/31

used here as a report for the commemoration of the Ninoy Aquino Assassination, non-commercially for review and promotion work and for archiving of historical documents, photos, and videos. The footage includes the funeral mass in Sto. Domingo Church, various angles of the street assembly, a medium shot of the funeral cortege, that slowly zooms out into a semi-aerial shot of the two-million strong funeral march, the largest in world history. If you’re going to use it, please include in your acknowledgements,  this blog or the YouTube account of this blog kasi po pinaghirapan ko rin ang paghahanap nito at nagbuhos ng pagod at panahon — hwag maging walang-modo, salamat po —   i shouldn’t have to say this, sorry…. pero marami po kasi dyan ang parang… hindi nakapag-aral, sowee. (because it was the product of much research effort,  and precious time and energy — don’t be rude & unethical in using it. Thanks! A meaningful commemorative day to all!)

Rizal Day today

“Farewell my  beloved homeland, land of the dear rising sun

Adios patria adorada, region del sol querida

Pearl of the Orient sea, an Eden in ruins!

Perla del Mar de Oriente, nuestro perdido Eden!

Gladly do i give you my small and forsaken life;

A darte voy alegre la triste, mustia vida;

And were it more brilliant, more fresh,  more full in bloom,

Y fuera mas brillante, mas fresca, mas florida,

Gladly would i still give it for you to flourish.”

Tambien por ti la diera, la diera por tu bien.”

excerpt of 14 verses, Mi Ultimo Adios (My Last Farewell)

by Dr. Jose Rizal,

(written a few hours before he was                                                           executed)
